Angler Products was started in 2005 after learning how to convert fishing locations into files GPS units could read. With these files a person could load literally hundreds of waypoints to their GPS in less time than the average user could manually load one. Many Texas anglers purchased the new up-loadable fishing hotspots and it quickly became evident that to sell these files meant you also had to have the technical experience to help clients load them to the multiple GPS units being used. This required a thorough knowledge of each and every make and model. With this new found knowledge I started being asked to speak at Boat & Fishing Shows, Coastal Conservation Association events and elsewhere on the power of GPS Chartplotters for the recreational boater. As a direct result of these many talks and the question and answer sessions at the end I’ve learned the common questions and concerns most people have when it comes to GPS Chartplotters.
The courses and cheat sheets found on this site have come from talking to literally hundreds of boaters and showing them how to do the simple things they want to do with their units. In fact putting together a waterproof cheat sheet with clear, easy to follow instructions on the basic functions of a Chartplotter was the idea of many of my early audience members. They kept telling me I’d shown them a lot in my session but they would never remember it all when they got out on the water. After hearing this often enough the waterproof cheat sheet was born. And soon after that, I started putting together the tutorials.
